updating this bug to reflect persisting issues.
About is solved as mentioned by emanuele.
The Start Center image is also solved, also not nicely aliged and sitting much
to close on top of the text. And the image looks pixelated. (screenshot
attached).

Remaining:
The icons in start center are still lighter when directly compared to linux
(see " mac (left) vs linux (right) " screenshot by jay).
