Bug ID: 114561
Summary: Need chapter wise section numbering tool and auto
detection at one place
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 5.4.3.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: rahul.raoniar at protonmail.com
Description:
I think the numbering sections and subsections chapter wise is quite
complicated process. Even when I start writing a journal or my thesis I
personally found that setting up initial setup of numbering chapters and
sections quite complicated. In every documentation students need this feature
in first step.
i)It would be very much appreciated if chapter numbering such as sections and
subsections tool kept in one tab in LibreOffice.
ii) Please provide a section where the chapter setup can be saved so that any
one can use it later for other documentation
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Provide a tab or section where we can directly set the sections and
subsections numbering that would go for whole document
2.Provide one simple tab at that section so that when moved to next chapter by
pressing that tab we can alter the chapter number for example chapter 2 so that
after when we click on the section it would provide 2.1, 2.2 and so on
3.
Actual Results:
Actually it quite complicated. First create a section wise numbering then link
individually to created heading options the for every chapter put section
breaks and so on
Expected Results:
I guess if it would get implemented in LibreOffice, it definitely makes
document writing simple
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
