            Bug ID: 109116
           Summary: file format problem
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 5.3.4.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: LibreOffice
          Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: ggilmore48 at yahoo.com

I have two problems.
1. When I create a template and save it as a Word template for employees that
only use Word, I cannot open it UNLESS I have LibreOffice open. In other words,
if I click on that file, it will not open in LibreOffice. The symbol in front
of the file is just a blank letter symbol. To click on the file, I am asked
what program do I want to use to open it.

2. When I export as a .pdf file, in the earlier version, the letter is saved as
a PDF with the symbol before the file so that I can tell it is a pdf. Now, it
just shows a blank letter symbol, so I can't identify it as a pdf file. When I
click to open it, I get the screen asking what program do I want to use to open
the file. BEFORE, the file automatically opened in Acrobat Reader. Not so with
the new version.

These two problems cause me great problems in my daily production of letters
and documents. I hesitate to continue using LibreOffice because I fear I will
have lots of files that I cannot identify as a pdf or Word document. I only get
blank document symbol. Trust me, these will multiply in my files, and finding
the right file will be crazy wild.

Please help quickly,
Thank you,
Gary
