Bug ID: 109121
Summary: Text Colors Incorrect with Windows 10 High Contrast;
Tools>Options>LibreOffce>Application Colors Fixes It
Temporarily
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 5.3.4.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Impress
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: jvight.extra at Gmail.com
Description:
When Windows 10 is set to a High Contrast theme, text will show as black with a
black background when opening a new Impress project. This makes editing and
creating new text impossible.
However, if you go to Tools -> Options -> LibreOffice & click the "Application
Colors" option... a short pause will occur & magically all the text in the
Impress slides will turn to white & be readable.
I need to do that workaround every time I open Impress to work with the
application. It appears as if Impress isn't properly detecting High Contrast
mode & updating the text colors until I select "Application Colors" from within
the Options menu.
LibreOffce is setup to detect High Contrast / Accessibility in options.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enable High Contrast mode in Windows 10
2. Open a new Impress Document
3. Try to add some text -- it will be black on black (unable to see)
4. Go to Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Application Colors
5. Watch text magically become white & readable
Actual Results:
The text becomes white as expected, after initially being black (the bug that
needs fixing).
Expected Results:
Text should be readable on application start. High Contrast mode should be
detected & black on black should be fixed on application start -- not requiring
selecting "Application Colors" in the Options menu.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes, and it made the problem worse. The workaround
"Application Colors" didn't help, because I presume "Detect Accessibility" was
unchecked or perhaps "Use Automatic Colors" was different.
