I totally understand. Here are the exact steps I did:
1. I loaded a legal document saved in DOCX format of MS-Office 20013 that I
needed to process - with all relevant fonts installed, so there was nothing
missing
2. I went down to the footer, which had some "normal page" text boxes
"assigned" to the footer (and could not be processed or resized aside from the
ruler
3. I deleted the footer (started on page one), which "revealed" the windows of
the text boxes (I was able to move them at that point, but I deleted them
nonetheless)
4. I clicked on the bottom of the page and pressed the "Footer (Default Style)
+" button that appeared.
5. I created a table that I wanted for my footer, inserted the information and
formatted it appropriately.
6. After finishing, I scrolled down to the 6-page-total document and noticed
that in pages 4, 5 and 6 the footer was missing
7. I clicked at the footer and I saw that the button on the right side said
"Footer (Converted 1)
8. I scrolled further down and each page henceforth had an incremental number
of a "Converted Footer"
9. As the pages increased to 7, I ended up with a total of the Default Footer
appearing on the first three pages and from there on, four increments of
Converted Footers
10. After looking around for a bit, I went to the "Styles and Formatting" right
tab and into the Custom Styles, which included only the table and a list style
11. I clicked on the "Pages Styles" on the top small icon of the "Styles and
Formatting" tab and all the "Converted" Footers appeared
NOTE: All the Footers appear as Default when first importing the docx file.
Also, there are no graphics involved, just text.
I hope this helps.
