In calc, when you enable autofilter, filter can fail in some circumstances.

Steps to reproduce:

Create a column with theses three values:

2012-01-02
2012
2012-02-22

try to filter out 2012 (not the date, the number) -> number stills displayed
Also, when trying to filter only for 2012-January the number 2012 is included
as well.
