@EricP, thank you for making the effort needed to bibisect this.

Per notes on https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/34848/ looks like simply
reverting would cause return of issues in bug 100986 and bug 103831; and as
well would touch https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/36990/ for bug 107205
