Well then, I have no idea which is the difference.
Just in case: I have XUbuntu 16.04.2 LTS, 32-bit version.

One thing: "About LibreOffice" tells me: "Locale : en-GB (fr_FR.UTF-8)"

Same bad behavior in LibreOffice 5.2.4.2
