Its a Win7 64bit dual core system using 4GB RAM.

I am writing books with pictures included as extra files. Therefore the file
size of the odt itself should not be an issue.

One text is 472kB in odt size - 367 pages and 405 pictures. 

Unfortunately this now works not so responsive as should be.

I have another text with 768 pages and also pictures which seemed to give no
problem with the older LO versions I used for editing.

Saving the 472kB odt without changing any picture gives a bar in the status
line. When this bar disappears it seems to be that the odt is saved. But
unfortunately still working is not possible. It takes several seconds (~5s)
before being able setting the cursor again.

I resaved the text to another name. Same problem. It takes about 5 seconds need
to wait before something can be done. This really is a frustrating experience.

I did a test file and copied to another PC - without the picture files.
Therefore LO is not able loading and showing those pictures. The problem with
saving is then not to see. 

Therefore it does not seem to be so easy showing the problem. I am not able
giving all those pictures from my book. I hope you will understand.

I really hope there will be a solution for this. May be someone has an idea.
