            Bug ID: 108052
Summary: Where should custom chart colors be added
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha0+
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: UI
          Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: thomas.lendo at gmail.com

In bug 105225 comment 1 was stated, that the new color palettes can't be chosen
for chart colors. 12 default chart colors are defined. Since there is no more a
single palette where users can add custom colors, custom colors will be saved
in the "custom" palette.

Where should custom chart colors be added?

With the new color picker they must be saved in the "custom" palette. But this
is--in a user's perspective--not convenient. Why should the color of Data
Series 13 be added (and chosen) in "custom" palette and colors of Data Series
1-12 chosen in "chart" palette (or wherever).

Additionally the whole options dialog of charts default colors must be revamped
or deleted at all. The "chart colors" list will be obsolete if chart colors
will have their own palette.

But: Personally I think it would be a UX mess if there is
1) a new chart color palette in the color picker and
2) a chart colors list in "Tools > Options > Charts > Default Colors"
where colors from the chart palette and custom chart colors are collected. This
would introduce a second level of color management.
