If we go we the symbol solution independent from the locale it's up to the icon
designer how the currency is represented. Breeze has an icon, and this icon
likely not changes because of LibreOffice. Sifr may use coins and bills, and
Tango the dollar sign. In the end the icon set has to have a harmonic
appearance and the user decides what she wants to use.
If we go with a locale dependent solution we are in charge of making it nice.
That could be bold font for Sifr, Serif/Sans etc. Doubt that works ultimately.
We can also request a number of localized icons from the designers - again it's
up to them how they look.
So the discussion is not bill, coin, or another more creative solution.
