Making this an EasyHack, code pointers:
sc/source/core/data/table4.cxx
ScTable::FillAnalyse()
ScTable::FillAutoSimple()
ScTable::GetAutoFillPreview()
Places that call lcl_DecompValueString() and act on / use its results.
