Installing gtk3 on my Mint 18.2 KDE fixed the problem on LibreOffice Version:
5.1.6.2 on a Lenovo 
Build ID: 1:5.1.6~rc2-0ubuntu1~xenial2

Works now at high resolutions on a Lenovo T450s with high res screen.
