            Bug ID: 113036
Summary: "hypen" is changed to a "soft hypen" in a pdf export
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 5.1.6.2 release
          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: robert_geisler at gmx.de

Description:
Hello,

I found a very interesting fact about the Mint 17.3 Cinnemon System combined
with the Libre Office Writer 5.1.6.2. Following, I have an example to explain
what I mean:

- Inserting from "A-B“ into a LO-Writer Document
- Formatting from "A-B“ with the font "Courier 10 Pitch“
- Creating a PDF with "Data ==> Export as PDF"
- Opening the created PDF document and copying from "A-B" with STRG+C into the
cache
- Entering the cache "A-B" into the unicode analyser
http://www.fontspace.com/unicode/analyzer/

According to this I have two questions:

1. When entering the cache into the input box of the unicode analyser, the -
between A and B disappears. Why is that? The - disappears only if the format of
the font of the libre office writer origin document was changed. In my case I
changed the format to the font "Courier 10 Pitch“ (see above).

2. When clicking on „GO“ after entering the cache (in the unicode analyser),
you can see that there is something else between A and B, but not a "-",
instead a SOFT HYPEN. Can you tell me where this SOFT HYPEN is coming from? Is
it a libre office writer bug?

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Inserting from "A-B“ into a LO-Writer Document
2. Formatting from "A-B“ with the font "Courier 10 Pitch“
3. Creating a PDF with "Data ==> Export as PDF"
4. Opening the created PDF document and copying from "A-B" with STRG+C into the
cache
5. Entering the cache "A-B" into the unicode analyser
http://www.fontspace.com/unicode/analyzer/
6. The "-" between A and B disappears

Actual Results:
see above

Expected Results:
see above

Reproducible: Always
