Happens in Ubuntu Mate 16.04 with Mate 1.12.1 with 6.0 alpha 1 git build gtk2,
but doesn't in Solus 3 with Mate 1.18.0 with the same 6.0 alpha 1 git build or
Linux Mint 18 with Mate 1.14.1 with master below.
