Bug ID: 112570
Summary: much slower than previous versions + a crash when
changing printer properties
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 5.3.6.1 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: 2davidedwards at gmail.com
Description:
Not really a bug (I think) but performance degradation that makes 5.3.6
unusable for me:
I have a large Calc file for music files (over 23000 lines) and scrolling
became impossibly slow with 5.3.6 - such that it was all but impossible to find
a specific line. Also text copied from an email into a Writer document, visible
on screen, did not print and when I went to check printer settings LibreOffice
crashed and crashed again on restart, losing the document. I have had to
downgrade (to 5.2.7.2) and immediately I can use the big Calc file again. I
have a laptop with a dual core i3 processor - not the fastest around but
adequate for everything else I do including live streaming of concerts etc. It
runs Windows 10 64 bit. You seem to have made 5.3.6 unnecessarily heavy.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Load 5.3.6 on my computer.
2.
3.
Actual Results:
described above
Expected Results:
Large Calc files become impossibly slow to scroll to nearly unusable.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
