@L : does the Padauk font you are using come supplied with MacOS or have you
installed it separately ? If separately, where did you download this font ?
For example, I see that SIL offers the Padauk font for download under the Open
Font License for MacOS, Linux and Windows, but it clearly states that it relies
on Graphite and OpenType, and application-specific support in order to support
complete rendering in all of the myanmar scripts :

Under the paragraph "Common Questions":
"The other key to successful rendering of complex fonts is the support given by
the application you are using."
