While it might be reasonable to remove the outer frame (and then, without any
switches, just make it gone), I disagree with the proposal to change the color
of the selection. IIRC, we had changed that somewhere in 4.x to follow system
selection color; so don't introduce configurations for what is controlled
centrally in the system.
