When I follow the instructions at
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile, I no longer see an entry for
Tools->Macros->Record Macro. [SEE THE  ATTACHED SCREENSHOT] 

So, I am a little bit confused about how I can reproduce the bug in 'safe
mode'.  

I am changing the status to UNCONFIRMED.

FYI, I included a gdbtrace in my original report.  Shouldn't that tell you
where the crash is happening?
