Retesting showed that it works *sometimes*; more precisely:

* It works when using just a single screen.
* In a dual-screen setup where the right screen is the main screen:
  * It works OK when the Writer window is maximized on the left screen.
  * The problem is still reproducible when the writer Window is maximized on
the right screen.

Testing was done on Debian testing (with the 'plasma-desktop' package at
version 4:5.14.3-1).
