Dynamic preview of the affect on selection is available off the canvas in the
Characters dialog.

Making similar changes live on the document canvas is too disruptive and would
be a performance drag--deemed undesirable and as with the dupe => WF

Applying preview dynamicaly to a single cell in Calc use completely different
framework with little performance impact--apples and oranges.
