If you clone let's say Bold to Italic, then result is B+I because they both
were direct formatting.
You cannot add direct formatting and expect that to remove existing one.
You may use Ctrl on destination and it will include paragraph formatting. And
you may get what you want.
So not a bug. But let's say it's a problem of insufficient doc so a duplicate.
