Description:
Check for Updates button of the extensions manager doesn't work

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open the extensions manager
2.Click on check for updates
3.

Actual Results:  
no updates found

Expected Results:
quite a number of updates that are available


Reproducible: Always


User Profile Reset: No



Additional Info:
When I used the "check for updates" button in the extensions manager, I got no
updates. However, when I checked the extensions library, there were many new
versions!
