Well the obvious thing is to test in SAFE mode (Help -> Restart in Safe Mode ).
It will allow you to run "Continue in Safe Mode" (changing nothing) with a
default profile, just assuring you your installation and hardware are not the
issue.
The dialog will give you options to configure user extensions and hardware
acceleration, or to reset extensions.
Unfortunately, beyond that teasing out what in a 300MB profile is causing
issues with the Style sidebar deck is going to be a tedious trial and error
process of adjustment.
For now, let us know how Safe Mode or a clean profile (keep the backup .zip
safe) works.
