Bug ID: 118815
Summary: Update available icon not visible
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 6.0.4.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: aerkiaga3 at gmail.com
Description:
I have LibreOffice 6.0.4.2 on Linux Mint. I just upgraded to Linux Mint 19 some
days ago. Then, LibreOffice 6.0.5 is available, so the usual pop-up bubble
appears on the top-right corner, except that now there is no icon in the menu
bar. The appropriate area gets highlighted in white, but no icon is visible.
This is unlikely to be intended as there is no way for the user to notice the
new update unless they hover the mouse over that area. The bug appears in all
components of the suite.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the specified version when there's a new version available.
2. Click on 'Help' -> 'Check for updates' if the pop-up does not appear.
3. Close the dialog.
4. Hover the mouse over the rightmost side of the menu bar, just on the left of
the 'x'.
Actual Results:
Although there is no icon on the bar, the area gets highlighted, and the pop-up
bubble appears.
Expected Results:
It should have displayed an icon notifying the user that an update is indeed
available, then highlight the icon when they hover the mouse over it.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
