            Bug ID: 118992
Summary: Auto-Cropping Images by desired Framesize
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 5.1.6.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: cimann at gmx.de

Description:
While working with Layoutgrids and scaling an inserted picture it is desired to
understand and define the dimensions of the pictureframe as a viewport, like
scribus does.
Let's say the user inserts a 3:4 images.
In the properties-dialog he sets the dimension of the frame to H:2cm W:2cm. Now
the images looses the aspect ratio, but normally the user wants the aspect
ratio always kept, moreover he wants to reduce the viewport of the image.
If the user now checks "Keep Ratio" and an additional checker "Autocrop" then
the images should be rescaled to the maximum size to fit the given frame.
Further manipulation can be done in the crop-register by adjusting the
zoom-percentage and the offset-values. Its quite the same way scribus does.
Nowaday I need to crop images in an external programm, the crop dialog is not
suitable for me.

Actual Results:
If checked "KeepRatio" height and width of a frame are computed dependantly.
Its not possible to set values independently.

Expected Results:

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
If checked an additional "Autocrop" it should be possible to vary the values
independently, the pictureframe acts like a viewport
