No repro for me with

Version: 5.4.7.2
Build ID: c838ef25c16710f8838b1faec480ebba495259d0
Threads CPU : 4; OS : Mac OS X 10.13.4; UI Render : par défaut; 
Locale : fr-FR (fr_FR.UTF-8); Calc: group

If I type continuously in a comment box in Calc, then the comment box expands
downwards to accomodate my typing.
If I add a carriage return, the same thing happens.

As far as I can tell, this is WORKSFORMEwith LO5472.
