i agree with mchan223 , there are variables and we can use it.
result of calculation shouldn't change to incorrect! It is a bug.

three cents from me:

1. if formula in table change to aaa+2*bbb, then result doesn't change
2. may be sign [*] after of name of variable [bbb] makes from it name of
another variable [bbb*2], that doesn't set in the document? 
3. [*] may be a wildcard in this case?

finally, in 6.1 beta 1 this bug still repro
