Bug ID: 116151
Summary: Cannot use the File Open or File Save Dialogs in
Libreoffice with libreoffice-kde installed
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 5.4.5.1 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: liststuff at fastmail.com.au
Description:
Using Libreoffice 5.4.5 in KDE Plasma 5.8.8/Frameworks 5.36 the File Open/Save
dialogs throw up error messages like the below, as well as failing to load
properly (the dialogs don't show any file or directories).
"Unable to save bookmarks in /home/tim/.local/share/user-places.xbel. Reported
error was: Unable to open temporary file. Error was: 5.. This error message
will only be shown once. The cause of the error needs to be fixed as quickly as
possible, which is most likely a full hard drive."
See screenshot for how the file dialog looks
Workaround:
I found this is caused by the libreoffice-kde package somehow. If I remove this
package and instead install libreoffice-gtk3 then the issue is worked around.
I'm on Ubuntu 16.04
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Libreoffice (doesn't matter whether Calc, Writer etc) on KDE with
libreoffice-kde installed
2.File->Open or File->Save
Actual Results:
File dialog is broken, shows error messages and cannot see any files or folders
Expected Results:
File open/save dialog works
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
