Bug ID: 116190
Summary: Bulleted lists fail to display properly when converted
to .docx format FORMATTING
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 6.0.1.1 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: michael.s.denham at gmail.com
Description:
A bulleted list in LibreOffice will not display properly in a .docx format. The
bullets are replaced by squares. I believe this is because the default symbol
used as a bullet is a character from the Symbol font, rather than the unicode
character for bullet in whatever font the user is currently typing in. This
should be changed to ensure proper compatibility, especially considering that
.docx, whether you like it or not, is the standard file format for virtually
all business.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a bulleted list using the default settings.
2. Save document as a .docx file.
3. View document in another processor-- Microsoft Office or Google Docs.
Actual Results:
The bullets are replaced with hollow squares.
Expected Results:
The bullets should be bullets.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
This also happens when opening and editing an existing docx file not created in
LibreOffice, and then saving it again.
