            Bug ID: 116298

           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 5.4.5.1 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: LibreOffice
          Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: jrf at mailbox.org

Description:
Hi!

Thanks for your work and the great progress LO has made over time in so many
ways.

There's one thing however, that is really annoying and almost drives me mad
each time I try a new version: it's the buttons/markers for opening/closing the
side-panels (Navigator/formatting).

While it was right to make them more visible than in the early versions, you
unfortunately went to the other extreme. Now they are so intrusive, distracting
and un-elegant - it's really a pain in the eye! They make LO virtually
un-usable for me. Put another way: this seemingly little detail is a big
obstacle for me to use and recommend LO.

Please correct this visual-design-gaffe asap - in the interest of the whole
project. And please let someone do it who's got a feeling for things like that.

If you don't want to do it, please let me know where to look in the source -
I'll do it myself then.

Thanks!

Rainer Fiebig
