Bug ID: 116606
Summary: Editing an existing text cell fails because same
single character is overwritten
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 5.4.4.1 rc
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: post at deadline.de
Description:
Often when editing a cell with text in it, the edit fails because the new text
gets entered one character at a time, overwriting the previously entered
character. Sometimes the existing text is also partially or completely erased.
This happens more often when editing directly in the cell itself, but also
sometimes when editing in the entry field at the top. This bug has been with me
for a while, so I can't remember which version it started on. As a work around,
I can enter the text in an empty cell, copy it, and paste it in. It does not
happen consistently so I am not sure how to ensure that it can be reproduced.
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Edit a text field with some existing content (field content) [note this bug
only occurs on about 20% of the edits, and I haven't noticed a causal pattern]
2.click in the cell, and type (new text) at the beginning
3.the result would then be (tfield content) because all the other characters
did not register properly
Actual Results:
tfield content
Expected Results:
new text field content
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
OpenGL enabled: Yes
Additional Info:
I will try reseting my usere profil,
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.13; rv:58.0)
