Bug ID: 116709
Summary: Improve skipping through slides in presentation mode
with PgUp/PgDown quickly
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 6.0.0.2 rc
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Impress
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: cparg at gmx.de
Request for enhancement:
Stop object animation immediately when PgUp/PgDown is pressed while animation
runs
Why?
When you want to go back to a certain slide in a presentation situation to
answer a question from the audience, you want to do this quickly.
When a slide has a couple of animation to incrementally show objects on the
slide, the animation starts and need to finish before the tool reacts on an
additional PgUp/PgDown press.
The easiest and way is to quickly skip through the presentation steps with
PgUp/PgDown. This also works with Presentation pointer devices, which emulate
PgUp/PgDown. Changing to edit mode or using other buttons on the keyboard is
not appropriate during presentation, or sometimes even not an option.
Priority:
This is one of the major disadvantages of LO compared to MS-PowerPoint in
presentation mode, which really makes LO significantly less user friendly to
use.
Thanks for considering this request to make this very nice tool even better!
In more detail:
When PgUp/PgDown is pressed while a animation runs,
stop animation and show the final rendered result of the current animation (as
if it ran to the end), instantly start showing the next object (potentially its
animation) in the presentation sequence
the next animation.
