Bug ID: 117778
Summary: UI: Spreadsheet cell comment window doesn't enlarge to
hold added text
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 6.0.0.2 rc
Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: rob51 at mac.com
Description:
When typing in a cell comment, if the added text goes to a new line the comment
window doesn't expand to hold it. The new line of text appears underneath the
box.
Cell comments in general seem rather buggy and could use a re-think. Why can't
you resize and reposition the comment window by just dragging the corners? Why
do you have to enter a special mode?
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Add a comment to a spreadsheet cell
2.Type more text than the default box will hold
3.
Actual Results:
When the text overflows the box and wraps to a new line, the line appears
outside the box (underneath it).
Expected Results:
The box enlarges to hold the text.
(General comment: it seems the comment UI could use a rethink. Why can't you
resize the box by just dragging the corners like a normal window? Why can't you
easily reposition the window? Why must you enter a special mode?)
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
OpenGL enabled: Yes
