Bug ID: 117799
Summary: Allow change of frame / image position through
properties sidebar
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 6.0.4.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: a.skembris at quantdata.gr
Description:
Currently, in order to change the position of a frame or image, one has to
right click on the object, go to 'Properties -> Type' and change the position
from there. It would be really useful if one could change position from the
sidebar, as in the case of other properties, such as brightness, size,
rotation, etc. This goes for both images and frames (or whatever object
encapsulates it when a caption is created for an image).
Perhaps a dropdown with 9 present positions within the page text area
(horizontally: top, center, bottom / vertically: top, center, bottom) would
allow very quick and accurate placement of figures (instead of the traditional
dragging).
It should be noted that in the case of images, the sidebar's bottom section
reads "Position and Size", even though practically only the size can be
changed. :-)
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on a frame or an image to select it.
Actual Results:
To change its position Right click, select 'Properties', go to 'Type' tab and
select the placement of the image (or click on the hamburger icon on the
corresponding sidebar section).
Expected Results:
The same actions should be possible through the Properties displayed in the
sidebar after the image / frame has been selected.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
OpenGL enabled: Yes
