to revert ab8bf5533f8de9bb1aa9dc83e650e4eccf0fcac3 again and have users solve
that commit's issue instead by using COMPILER_PLUGINS_CXX (introduced as part
of e754d0931ca75403647cc16100edd98e7e5ceadb).  Thoughts, Luboš?
