            Bug ID: 121758
Summary: Text to Column feature "corrupts" data and have
                    strange output
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 6.0.7.3 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Calc
          Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: sinlg at hotmail.com

Description:
When Copying a chunk of text from Writer and pasted into Calc, data looks
correct.

After using "Text to Column", the data seems to have been partially merged..
output not expected.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Copy a bunch of text from Writer and paste into a column in Calc. I also
noticed, if I copied less data, the problem do not exist, maybe it is the size
of the data set? I have around 500 rows of text

2. use Text to Column and set separator character to ~

Actual Results:
first row data is corrupted and doesnt show expected outcome...
some rows have expected outcome, but the first row is terribly wrong....

The first data when pasted into Calc was correct, but after Text->Column, the
data has changed.....to a number of merged rows...

Expected Results:
The author names should be extracted to a new column

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

"Who am I?" is not really a question because it has no answer to it; it is
unanswerable.  It is a device, not a question.~Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh

A believer is a bird in a cage, a free-thinker is an eagle parting the clouds
with tireless wings.~Robert Ingersoll

A drop of water has the tastes of the water of the seven seas: there is no need
to experience all the ways of worldly life. The reflections of the moon on one
thousand rivers are from the same moon: the mind must be full of light.~Hung

A flower falls, even though we love it; and a weed grows, even though we do not
love it.~Dogen

A glimpse is enough to initiate the awakening process, which is
irreversible.~Eckhart Tolle

A human being is part of the whole, called by us ‘universe,’ a part limited in
time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something
separate from the rest – a kind of optical delusion of consciousness. This
delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and
to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free
ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all
living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. The true value of a
human being is determined primarily by the measure and the sense in which he
has attained liberation from the self.~Albert Einstein

A life is either all spiritual or not spiritual at all. No man can serve two
masters. Your life is shaped by the end you live for. You are made in the image
of what you desire.~Thomas Merton

A rebirth out of spiritual adversity causes us to become new creatures.~James
E. Faust

A sagacious student does not depend on his teachers words, but uses his own
experience to find the truth.~Bodhidarma

A spiritually optimistic point of view holds that the universe is woven out of
a fabric of love. Everything that is happening is ultimately for the good if
we're willing to face it head-on and use our adversities for soul growth.~Joan
Borysenko

Accept yourself. Respect yourself. Allow your nature to take its own course.
Don't force, don't repress.~Osho

All spiritual practice is the art of shifting perspectives.~Teal

All that affliction of the darkest kind ever can work to the true soul is to
awaken it up to spiritual things, to open the clear eye, to make the spiritual
reality the more real. If you rightly comprehend it it only strikes that which
is round about you, it only removes that which is outward and physical, but it
leaves you all the same a greater and a better man for your trial.~E.H. Chapin

All that you need is just to be silent and listen to existence. There is no
need of any religion, there is no need of any God, there is no need of any
priesthood, there is no need of any organization. All those things can be
removed. Now all that is left to you is a state of meditation which simply
means a state of utter silence. Even the word meditation makes it look heavier.
It is better to just call it a simple, innocent silence.~Osho

All things are linked with one another, and this Oneness is sacred; there is
nothing that is not interconnected with everything else. For things are
interdependent, and they combine to form this Universal Order.~Marcus Aurelius

An awakened teacher can only be your lighthouse, casting light on your path,
but you must understand it and walk your own path.~Frank M. Wanderer

Anxiety is the mark of spiritual insecurity.~Thomas Merton

Around us, life bursts forth with miracles – a glass of water, a ray of
sunshine, a leaf, a caterpillar, a flower, laughter, raindrops. If you live in
awareness, it is easy to see miracles everywhere. Each human being is a
multiplicity of miracles. Eyes that see thousands of colours, shapes, and
forms; ears that hear a bee flying or a thunderclap; a brain that ponders a
speck of dust as easily as the entire cosmos; a heart that beats in rhythm with
the heartbeat of all beings. When we are tired and feel discouraged by life’s
daily struggles, we may not notice these miracles, but they are always
there.~Thich Nhat Hanh

As a progressive and evolving being, man is where he is that he may learn that
he may grow; and as he learns the spiritual lesson which any circumstance
contains for him, it passes away and gives place to other circumstances.~James
Allen

As far as I’m concerned, the spiritual life is just like any other endeavour –
you can succeed or fail. And when the goal is actual evolution beyond ego in an
intersubjective context, success or failure is plain for all to see.~Andrew
Cohen

As I am, so are others; as others are, so am I. Having thus identified self and
others, harm no one nor have them harmed.~Buddha

As I make my slow pilgrimage through the world, a certain sense of beautiful
mystery seems to gather and grow.~A. C. Benson

As I unclutter my life, I free myself to answer the callings of my soul.~Dr.
Wayne Dyer

As long as anyone believes that his ideal and purpose is outside him, that it
is above the clouds, in the past or in the future, he will go outside himself
and seek fulfillment where it cannot be found. He will look for solutions and
answers at every point except where they can be found – in himself.~Erich Fromm

As we to learn to trust the Universe, we gradually let go of our attempts to
control events and exert influence over the world. By cultivating peace in our
minds we become less fearful, more forgiving and compassionate. As you release
egoistic intentions your actions flow from a place of deeper love and wisdom.
We then become beacons of light for others, not by will or persuasion, but by
living joyfully in tune with the Way. In the words of Lao Tsu, "Tao in the
world is like a river flowing home to the sea.”~ Unknown

As you develop your awareness in nature, you begin to see how we influence all
life and how all life influences us; a key and critical feature for us to
know.~Unknown

Ask courageous questions. Do not be satisfied with superficial answers. Be open
to wonder and at the same time subject all claims to knowledge, without
exception, to critical scrutiny. Be aware of human fallibility. Cherish your
species and your planet.~Dr. Sagan
