Bug ID: 119950
Summary: Photos disappear in saved documents
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 6.0.6.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: leapingwell at gmail.com
Description:
Using Libre Office Writer I created a text document with photos inserted.
Worked great, UNTIL I saved the document! When I opened it again to make
changes all the photos had disappeared. The frames were there but they were
empty. This can’t be anything to do with memory because I have a 1 terrabite
ssd in my laptop.
I create a lot of large documents with photos so if Libre Office/ Open Office
can’t handle them I will have to go back to Word!
Actual Results:
Create a new document in Libre Office writer, add text, add photos, Save the
document As, and close!
I am running Windows 10, so, Now go into Documents and open the document. All
of the photos will have disappeared.
In fact, if you open any old documents (using Libre Office to view them), which
contain text and photos, the photos will have disappeared in them too.
In terms of actually creating the document managing text and photos it was
great BUT
Clearly there is a problem with photos once you save the document. It is a bit
weird because this is a very basic requirement.
Expected Results:
All of the photos in the document had disappeared!
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
Additional Info:
Clearly if you are using Libre Office writer to create a document with text and
photos, then you would expect to find the photos in the document when you open
it!?
