Per release notes [1][2] Apple macOS 10.8 was dropped at 6.0, and through 6.2
builds [3] minimum was a 10.9 macOS build.

At 6.3 the minimum supported macOS will move to 10.10.

The last release with support (deprecated, and Java JRE/JDK issues) for 10.8
osX was the 5.4 builds, still available from project archive.
