Bug ID: 124783
Summary: enhancement request: UI - warn user if sheet contains
'unrecalculated outdated values'
Product: LibreOffice
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: newbie-02 at gmx.de
Description:
while discussing https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124669 it
come up that it's possible to have values stored in a file which do not match
with the result of the formula in the cell by saving a file with data -
calculate - autocalculate: off.
this is a correct behaviour of the program, but may cause errors at least when
users have to work with files created and stored by other persons.
it would be nice to have any, some or all of:
- a warning when opening a file where autocalculate is off,
- a clear visible sign somewhere in the status- or toolbar 'autocalculate is
off',
- a warning when a file contains values which deviate from the result of the
formula in that cell,
- a 'flag' on each cell where the shown value deviates from the result of the
formula in that cell,
Winfried Donkers asked me to file new bugs since the original problem is
solved,
this request is for '- it would be nice to have a warning towards the user
whenever (s)he's dealing with files that contain deviations between formula and
formerly stored values' mentioned there.
Steps to Reproduce:
follow the steps in #124669 comment 7 to produce a file with a value having a
'false result' in a cell.
Actual Results:
no hint to the user
Expected Results:
anything warning the user or helping him to understand the situation,
(otherwise he might ask 'silly questions' in 'ask' or 'bugs').
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
i think the problem is around in all versions,
