Yes, I can reproduce. Note that the majority (but not all) leaks are caused by
the above flicker-related commit. Here are some numbers I get:

bad: 163 -> 205 -> 247
good: 118 -> 121 -> 122

I'll look at how to get back to the rather slow rate from the current fast
rate.
