I discovered that the screen is not updating after ScreenUpdating = True
That's why I thought macros were run very slowly.
I have to minimize and restore Calc to see updates!
Even marking a range needs minimizing and restoring to see the selection.
I guess it's not necessary to say this is more than frustrating
