Bug ID: 129286
Summary: Formatting one cell causes cells to its right to
change
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 6.2.2.2 release
Hardware: Other
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: peter.b.davis314 at gmail.com
Description:
I often create Calc spreadsheet entries with a date in one cell and number
amount in the cell to its right, but when I enter a number it wrongly converts
it to a date. If I paste a new format into the cell, then enter the number
again, it again wrongly transforms it to a date. I have to clear the format,
enter the number, then reassign the font, size etc. In testing this for this
bug report I found it does the same for $number in left cell, forces $ to a
number in right cell. This is propagated to the right for as many entries as I
try. The software may be trying to be user friendly but it is just the
opposite in this case. LibreOffice Version: 6.2.2.2 (x64)on WIN 10
Build ID: 2b840030fec2aae0fd2658d8d4f9548af4e3518d
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open new Calc sheet pick, random cell in middle enter a number - fine
2.Select cell to right, right click, format cell, date, enter a date
3.Now type a number in cell to right of that one and it will become a date
instead. Keep entering above or below or near it and it will change them to
dates as you enter unless you click at least one blank cell away first.
Actual Results:
123
123 5/6/30 123 $123 123 Manual Entries
[05/02/00]
[123] [05/06/30] [05/02/00] [$123.00] [$123.00] Cell Results
Expected Results:
123
123 5/6/30 123 $123 123 Manual Entries
[123]
[123] [05/06/30] [123] [$123.00] [123.00] Cell Results
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
