[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 129301] Converting a Text field to a date, the field is of type date, but it's not valid due to a ' character at the beginning of the field . (extra ' character at the beginning)

This is not a bug, but the expected behaviour.
You need to convert the values after setting date format e.g. via Menu
"Data/Text to Columns..."
