Bug ID: 129407
Summary: LibreOffice 6.2 Help for Changing Page Background
references a tab that does not exist.
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 6.2.8.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: dhorton668 at gmail.com
Description:
Apologies if this is the wrong place to report bugs in the online help guide.
I could not find anything on the help page itself to report errors and
corrections.
My bug report is for the LibreOffice 6.2 instructions for changing the page
background.
https://help.libreoffice.org/6.2/en-US/text/swriter/guide/pagebackground.html?&DbPAR=WRITER&System=WIN#bm_id8431653
Step 6 in the instructions says to 'click the Background tab'. There is no
background tab that I can find in my version of Writer. Instead, I was able to
solve it with the following procedure:
Follow instructions as outlined for steps 1 - 5. Starting from 6, use this:
6. Click the Area tab.
7. From the buttons at the top, click Bitmap.
8. In the Bitmap column below, click Add/Import and choose your file.
9. Choose options as desired and click OK.
Hopefully this change can be made to the help guide to make things a little
clearer for the next person who wants to change a page background for a
particular page style.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new page style
2. Modify the new page style
3. Look for the Background tab as referenced in the help guide
Actual Results:
There is no background tab.
Expected Results:
Expected to have a background tab as mentioned in the help guide.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
I have proposed a solution in the description section of this report.
