Bug ID: 122528
Summary: Scale of dispersion charts cannot be set with negative
limits anymore
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 6.2.0.1 rc
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: silvandy at katamail.com
Description:
In Calc, when you create a dispersion chart and you want to set a fixed scale
on one or both axis, you cannot set negative values anymore (this worked
perfectly unlit 6.1.4). So it is impossible to get a correct fixed scale chart
if you have totally or partially negative data to display
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a Calc sheet and insert in column A and B some numbers for a few cells
(say for 10 cells), some of them negative
2. Now select the data and create a dispersion chart for them, choosing the
appropriate type of chart.
3. Select one of the axes, and open the formatting dialog window at the "scale"
tab. If you uncked the "automatic" option for the Minimum and Maximum fields,
you should be able to set a fixed metric to the aixs
4. In the above input fields, any positive number is possible and works as
expected; HOWEVER, the fields do not accept negative values anymore and it is
thus impossible to have a fixed extremes dispersion chart displaying totally or
partially negative values.
Actual Results:
If you input a negative value in the Minimum or Maximum field, when you press
OK this is forced to 0 for any negative value you chose.
Notice that creating fixed extreme charts is often really necessary, especially
when you have to compare different charts with similar data displayed. In these
cases, if the extremes are left to automatic, they change and the charts are
not comparable because their metrics are different.
Expected Results:
You should be able to set ANY value for the above fields, as happened until
6.1.4
Reproducible: Always
