--- Comment #24 from Mike Kaganski <mikekaganski at hotmail.com> ---
If I understand correctly, the OP's idea is to use the text entered into the
Input fields elsewhere, and so OP looks for some reference to the already
placed Input fields to place their contents in a new place?

Input fields on Functions tab are just placeholder for some text that is only
needed in one single place. They are simply not designed to be referenced. The
"Reference" box naming in the field is unfortunate, and does not mean anything
related to possibility to link to that field later. It is just "a hint to user"
which would appear when cursor is inside the field, or when the field's edit
dialog is shown (like "Enter your name here:").

There is another field type to use when a previously-set value should be shown
elsewhere: it's on *Variables tab*, and it's *also named "Input field"*. But
there it's linked to variables in the document; you create variables first
using Set variable, then you offer user possibility to change it to their
liking using the Input field from the same tab, and then you put Show variable
fields wherever you need. You may repeat placing Input fields (from Variables)
below, and the variable value would change starting from that point.

So I close this as NOTABUG. Please feel free to set back to UNCONFIRMED if you
believe that it's wrong; then please describe clearly why.
