Bug ID: 126204
Summary: Changing the styles displayed in the Writer's sidebar
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 6.2.4.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: bannier.dorian at gmail.com
Description:
Hi,
I would like to suggest an improvement to the Writer's sidebar UI. In the Style
pane, all styles are displayed by default.
Let's take the example of the text styles. It is possible to select a subset of
these styles by selecting for example "Automatic" or "Titles styles" in the
bottom button, but when visiting table styles or page styles and then go back
the text styles, this is the option "All styles" that is again activated.
This can be a problem when there is a lot of memorized styles, as it is the
case for the text styles. The important amount of information displayed makes
it difficult to simply select the desired style. To fix this problem, a
possibility would be to select "Automatic" as default in the bottom button of
the Style pane in the sidebar. In this way, the amount of information displayed
to the user would be limited by default, and if necessary, the user can use the
bottom button to display other styles.
What do you think about this suggestion of improvement? If this is not clear, I
can join screen captures if necessary.
Actual Results:
Now, in the style panel of the sidebar, this is the "All styles" that is
selected by default.
Expected Results:
It could be great that the "Automatic" option would be selected by default.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
