Sorry, I built hunspell with:
./configure CXXFLAGS='-g -O0 -Wall -Wextra -D_GLIBCXX_DEBUG' --with-warnings
--with-ui --with-readline

then I went in:
<local LO root>/dictionaries/af_ZA
launched:
<local hunspell root>/./src/tools/hunspell -d af_ZA
I just see:
Hunspell 1.7.0

So don't know how to reproduce this.
