Re comment 52 and comment 53:  For further work on this EasyHack, it is
probably better if you try to come up with clean-up that doesn't involve new
uses of macros.  While macros may have their use in reducing boilerplate, they
do have issues, so we generally try to avoid them.  (Note that sometimes there
may be ways to reduce boilerplate that involve templates instead of macros.)
